HOPCC Teenagers

We here at Christian Day Schools believe in the power of God and prayer in the missionary field. If men and women can come together in unity, then the Spirit of God can move and do wonders worldwide. Unfortunately, as it has been a common observation, it is the older generation that goes to work the fields while the younger is either left behind or dragged along on a journey they never intend on being a partaker of. This being said, we were taken back when we came across a group of teenagers that are active in the mission’s field while at the same time excelling all around in life. In this article, we will look at the HOPCC teenagers, their dedication to God, their upbringing, and their stance ready to take on the world and whatever comes their way!

The Advances, Academically and Biblically

In coming into contact with the HOPCC teenagers, the first thing that we noticed was their seemingly advanced state of mind. Most teenagers you come across today can answer the latest pop culture questions, the things they have seen on a television set, or even master the latest video game; however, they far excel in Bible knowledge or general academics. While speaking with the teenagers from HOPCC, we took note of not only their knowledge of scriptures but that they possessed an understanding of what those scriptures mean. It is one thing to quote John 3:16 but to have a rational understanding of what the book of John is speaking of in chapter 3 is something that most adults, we would venture to say, do not have a grasp on, yet the HOPCC teenagers are striving to live those very words. Many of these teenagers contain intelligence beyond their years. While the average reading level among Americans is at a 7th or 8th-grade level, many, if not most, of this group of teenagers are at levels beyond their current grade. Yet, their understanding of arithmetic, science, and reading continues to impress all who come into contact with them.

HOPCC Teenagers Cultivated in Day School

The advances in the intelligence of these HOPCC Teenagers can largely be credited to the Day School that they attend. As opposed to attending a public school, these teenagers have been cultivated in a Day School at their local Church; in this Day School HOPCC Teenagers are taught, yes, the Importance of the Bible and right living, Charity, and the desire to do all they can in this present time; yet still, they are also instructed in secular learning. This Day School is unlike your traditional public-school environment. They are given the standard subjects; math, reading, science, social studies, and so on, but they are also instructed in various occupational fields. They have classes where they receive detailed instruction in things such as carpentry, welding, mechanics, cooking, sewing, and so much more! The organized and structured environment of this Day School is ideal for shaping young men and women into the citizens that we need in our society today.

Ready to Embark on Life’s Journey (Higher Education, Job Field)

HOPCC teenagers are set for success. With the quality education they receive, they are ready to take on whatever avenue they decide to pursue. Many have gone on from the Day School to take and score well on SATs and college entrance exams and are equipped to continue in higher education if they so desire. Many of the graduating classes have easily found employment in high-paying jobs, some even on military installations, in diverse fields. During the pandemic that shook the whole world, many people lost jobs or had to search for new work areas; however, with the work ethic taught to these HOPCC teenagers, they have had no hard time maintaining employment in the fields that they enjoy. Whether it be a job in mechanics, culinary, or carpentry, maybe the military, or even career students, the HOPCC teenagers are not limited to one category but rather have a plethora of opportunities before them.

Conclusion

Doors are open, the ways are cleared, and HOPCC teenagers are set to enter a vast and ever-changing world; with many decisions before them and the examples they have seen growing up, they are set for triumph. Our look into the Day School, those teenagers who have graduated and continued on, as well as those currently sitting in the classroom looking out the window of opportunity, have given us no short supply of hope. It is a hope not only for the missionary fields abroad but the missionary fields in our own back yards, a hope in the generation rising up, a hope in those behind us to take the stand that so many before us upheld!
