House of Prayer Field Trips

In searching the globe for those organizations that take the call of God seriously and have a heart for the mission field, we at Christian Day Schools also like to investigate these groups to see their missions work in their hometown. One of the ancient directives we have from God in Proverbs 22:6 (NIV) is to “train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not turn from it.” So we have peered into the House of Prayer and the Day School that they operate and what we have found is a gold mine of Biblical truths. We came across the House of Prayer Field Trips as educational, practical, informative, and hands-on!

House of Prayer Field Trips are a great experience

Looking into the House of Prayer Day School and their field trips, it was not hard to see that the effort put into organizing, facilitating, and executing these field trips is unrivaled by any traditional, charter, magnet, or private school that we have ever seen. As we searched the files, we found the HOPCC field trips to alligator farms, aquariums, and waterfalls where the children could participate in nature and be kids. We also came across House of Prayer field trips to science centers, pottery barns, and bakeries where the children put their own hands to work. We cannot forget about the treasure of the monuments that these blessed children were brought to, where they would see parts of history in person. House of Prayer field trips not only took children to local places in their hometowns but also to places afar, traveling between cities and states in diverse parts of the country learning along the way! These advanced field trips are unparalleled in comparison to any other school.

Historical Landmarks

One thing that really jumped off the pages of the House of Prayer field trip archives was the in-depth study of our historical landmarks. From Savannah, GA to Washington D.C. and again to New York City, we turned the pages of pictures and even spoke to some of the children privileged enough to experience these trips. The children of House of Prayer were taken on a guided tour of history that many people will never get to experience in all their lifetime. Speaking to a group of teenagers, who attended many of the House of Prayer field trips, they began to talk about the landmarks that they were able to learn from in Washington D.C. Being able to see the Supreme Court, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Washington Monument were all good, however, what stood out the most to one young man was the White House. For him, it was not just the building, but the history of the building and the opportunity to add to its history by being allowed to take part in a prayer wall formed along the fence and make intercession for the country and the world!

By far, one of the most extraordinary things about the House of Prayer field trips would have to be the hands-on learning, not just being handed a text but rather an experience. For example, some of the children were taken to a bakery where they would not only see the equipment and the products but also be given aprons and ingredients and learn the ways of a baker. It was another HOPCC field trip that they would go to a farm during the corn harvest; the teenagers would learn what it was like to harvest the fields as the farmer, in turn, taught them about the Book of Ruth and how that Boaz commanded his servants to leave some of the “handfuls of purpose.” Finally, at a science center, some of the children would learn the workings of electricity and geological studies deeper than a textbook could ever take them.

Conclusion

Through our research into this group and the HOPCC Day School with the House of Prayer field trips, we can only conclude the first-rate education received here is unsurpassable. At the House of Prayer, they genuinely believe that children are the heritage from the Lord (Psalms 126:3), and through their plethora of field trips and HOPCC missionary journeys, they are preparing them for whatever may come their way in life. The House of Prayer field trips have not only taught the children, but they have given them an experience that no one will ever be able to take away from them.
